The $5-Billion Question: Will Enough People Want EVs?
We read this article on Brandchannel about the pick up rate of EVs. Realistically, we can only get honest results about the feasibility of these cars when they start rolling out in the near future.
At the end of the day, it must be affordable for masses and easy to charge. For the latter, Greenlots is the perfect solution! Convenient to install and easy to charge!
Between tax credits to buyers and subsidized loans and grants to auto makers and others, the Obama administration is spending more than $5 billion to support the effort, as the Wall Street Journal points out. The goal of all this largesse? A million plug-in hybrids or all-electric cars on U.S. roads within five years. And about 20 electric models besides Leaf and Volt are set to arrive at U.S. dealerships over the next three years.
But the hard truth is that electric cars may simply be too expensive, may not provide enough all-electric range, be too inconvenient to recharge, and prove too small to be practical for most Americans.
